Seeking to address the educational needs of the children, Asian Hope acquired KinderCare Pre-school in the spring of 2000 and enrolled the Asian Hope children into the existing student population. KinderCare started out of a need for an education that could prepare the children for leadership. The public schools were teaching the children that it was appropriate to bribe authorities in order to receive a better grade.
This resulted in a vision expansion to include serving Cambodian children outside of the children’s home by providing quality, affordable or free, Christian education. The need for such an education for the larger community became very evident as Asian Hope was approached by missionary families, expatriate families and local Khmer families about providing a school for children beyond Pre-school. To address this need as well as the educational needs of the older Asian Hope children a second school was opened in the fall of 2002, Logos International School.
KinderCare currently educates Pre-School children aged 3 through Kindergarten. There are over 120 children enrolled at KinderCare.
