I was the youngest among my siblings. My life was perfect. All I wanted was right there: a grandma and grandpa, a mom and dad who loved me, and my other two siblings who adore me and cherish me. However, everything went all wrong. It all started about seven years ago. First, my grandma became ill. The following day, she went into a coma and passed away. The following year, my mother left us. I used to blame God for putting me into that kind of situation and for letting me taste the bitterness of life at a very young age.
My sister and I lived on food that we got from the neighbors, until one day, we got into contact with a missionary who wanted to help out. The missionary soon came into contact with Steven Fisk, who was the director of Asian Hope. She talked to him about us and decided that it was best for us best for us to be there. At that time I was confused, but I prayed and trusted that she would make the right decision.
At first, coming to Asian Hope was not easy. New arrivals, like me, had to adjust to the many noises and screams that I was not accustomed to. Even though it is very loud, the kids were very nice and friendly at the same time. They made me feel the love that I had missed for a very long time. I learned to love, forgive, and be patient with one another. The most important thing that I’ve learned is how to live as a family.
Unlike other organizations, Asian Hope is a place where God’s Word is the foundation. This place has provided me with every opportunity to help me accomplish what God has set out for me to do. The opportunity was also provided for me to attend Logos International School. Asian Hope is paving a way for the future that is awaiting me. Asian Hope has brought me to a family where there is love, and forgiveness. But the most important of all,it brought me to know God.
