Ehud Seng was born in a village called Sihanoukville. Much of his childhood is still a mystery to him. Ehud does not know what his father’s name was, what he looked like, or even if he is still alive. His father divorced his mother when he was very young. This made surviving a daily challenge. Some days his mother, brother and he had nothing but water to fill their stomachs. Ehud felt forced to steal to provide for his family, even though he knew it was wrong.
When Ehud was ten years old, his mother passed away, and survival took on a whole new meaning. He and his brother were forced to move in with his half brother in another province. Ehud worked as a slave, doing everything asked of him, and received only ridicule and criticism for his efforts. No one cared if he lived or died.
Eventually, Ehud’s half brother asked them if they would like to live in an orphanage. Ehud agreed and they moved into Asian Hope. They learned about Jesus Christ and soon felt like part of a family again. Ehud said, “Becoming a Christian was probably the happiest day of my life.” Ehud is not sure why God rescued him out of the millions of fatherless children, but is now ready to go wherever He leads without hesitation. He is currently a Sophomore at Liberty University. He hopes to become a principal back in Cambodia to help others have the opportunity to achieve their dreams like he has been able to.
