Asian Hope

ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS

Asian Hope International School (AHIS) is our third and most ambitious school.  Opening in January 2010 with only 17 students, this school is aimed at providing the highest quality Christian education at the lowest cost for lower income families.  Today, AHIS uses a unique bi-lingual format to educate over 200 students in preschool through Grade 4 and will expand all the way up to grade 12.

Currently, we are severely limited by a split campus using 2 separate buildings in 2 separate neighborhoods. There isn’t adequate space to grow the school or use the facilities for strategic outreach to impact the poor in our community with our Catch-Up Schools for unschooled and under-schooled children and Neighborhood Kids Outreach Programs.

Help is on the way! Asian Hope has signed a 25 year lease with the same landlord who helped us create Logos International School.  She will work with us once again to build a new educational campus like Logos.

This new campus will allow us to maximize our ministry opportunities to AHIS students and families plus allow us to operate our Catch-Up School and Neighborhood Kids Outreach Programs for the impoverished children in the surrounding community.

Importantly, we will breakeven operationally our first year.  Ultimately the reach of Asian Hope’s ministry at the new campus will extend to 700 students enrolled at AHIS, and an additional 500 unschooled and under-schooled at-risk children.  This campus will be used to educate, provide hope, and change the lives of over 1,200 children!

Asian Hope was founded in 1999 with a passion to love and serve at-risk children in Cambodia.  We began by meeting the educational needs of 30 abandoned children and quickly expanded to reach the unmet needs of the surrounding communities.

The vast majority of Cambodian families cannot afford to send their children to an international school, nor can they support the rigorous, English-only curriculum. Thus they are left with only the public school system where schoolteachers have not been adequately educated, materials are scarce, and corruption is prevalent.

Asian Hope International School is dedicated to providing a high quality, child-centered education in a safe and pleasant Christian environment, ensuring that every child feels worthy and appreciated. AHIS is a bilingual school for Cambodian children and our classes are taught in English and Khmer, helping the children to appreciate and retain their own culture while being prepared to take their place as leaders in the global community. Teaching is done from a Christian worldview but always in a very open and no pressure atmosphere, recognizing that the children come from different religious backgrounds.
