Asian Hope’s beginnings were in 1998 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Our aim is to rear up Khmer (Cambodian) leaders to help rebuild Cambodia from within. The crippling effect of the Khmer Rouge in the late 1970’s and subsequent civil war of the 1980’s is still very evident today. Cambodia’s educated and skilled were targeted and killed during the push for an agrarian socialist society. The educational system and infrastructure of the country was left in shambles. Today more than 50% of the population is under 21 and Asian Hope is nurturing and educating Cambodia’s future leaders in the name of Christ.

Asian Hope believes that the most effective way of transforming Cambodia is through enabling future generations to lead their country, and to be the catalysts of change. We are providing a familial environment for orphans, quality education, and life experiences that are preparing the children of Asian Hope to step into leadership roles. As teachers, doctors, nurses, engineers, business people, etc., these children will be able to influence their country in the name Christ, and to help transform Cambodia in a culturally relevant way.

Asian Hope is made up of three primary outreach programs: a Boy’s Home and a Girl’s Home which care for 20 orphaned children; two of the most respected schools in Phnom Penh, KinderCare International Pre-school and Logos International School; and 8 children formerly of the children’s homes attending university (5 in the United States, 2 in Thailand and 1 in India).

Our two schools educate over 400 children from 26 nations every year. Unlike other International Schools in Phnom Penh, 50 percent of our students are Khmer. The schools accommodate preschool and kindergarten, primary grades, and high school. Scholarships totaling approximately $100,000 are offered to needy children in the community every year so they too can receive a quality education at our schools.

We are teaching these children that they are special in God’s eyes. They are learning that God has a plan and future for them and their country. They can make a difference and so can you!
