2Five2
“And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.” (Luke 2:52)
This is the heartbeat behind Asian Hope’s village development program 2Five2. The name is taken from the Bible verse address for Luke 2:52, and honors the model Jesus sets for young people and their caregivers. Our passion is to see vulnerable Cambodian children grow as complete persons: mentally, physically, and spiritually. However, these children face significant challenges due to village poverty. Asian Hope’s mission is to meet these challenges and help these children overcome in order to fully develop into Cambodia’s next generation of leaders.
Prek Pneu, Asian Hope’s target village, is home to an estimated 1,200 families and over 3,000 children. We are told by the local authorities that less than half of these children attend school. Prek Pneu is a fishing village on the Tonle Sap River that suffers from many of the consequences of poverty: families live on $2.00 or less per day; substance abuse is prevalent; drinking water sources and storage are contaminated; only one third of families have access to hygienic toilet systems; and two thirds of families suffer significant medical issues.
The children of Prek Pneu are not able to attend school due to the significant poverty that they live in. They are either forced to work for their family or are simply neglected. 2Five2 is a comprehensive program of village development. Our goal is developing the children and the means is through education, public health, and community collaboration with the local churches, government schools and clinic.
In response to the vulnerability of children, teens, and young adults to extreme poverty, trafficking, and exploitation in the community of Prek Pneu, Asian Hope will provide comprehensive, Christ-centered education and village care focused on the Biblical value of children and their rights in order to transform at-risk communities into places where all are given hope for the future and are free from exploitation and abuse.
2Five2 provides comprehensive programs of Christ-centered education and community development founded on the God given value of children.

Asian Hope has been supporting and caring for at-risk, abandoned and orphaned Cambodian children since 2000. Our focal concerns are those children who are the most endangered and vulnerable – those without the means and support to develop to their full potential physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Please join us in changing the lives of Cambodia’s at-risk children. If you would like more information on how to get involved please contact Leanne Deremer at lderemer@asianhope.org.
